Four Months Old!

Dear Nathaniel,

Happy Four Month Birthday!!

Before you were born, people kept telling your Mommy how quickly time moves when you have a little one... I have come to find out that they weren't kidding!!  Time moves so fast!  It feels like I was just writing your three month update, and here we are at FOUR MONTHS!  Your personality has really started to shine this month, and both Mommy and Daddy agree that you are just the coolest little kid to be around.

You got to spend most of this past month on the road with Mommy and Daddy.  We spent 25 days of July on a road trip, going to Ohio, Chicago, and Michigan.  While we were gone, you definitely started to grow more!  Last week, we started to dress you in your 3-6 month clothing.  You always seem to outgrow your sleepers first, and the rest of your clothes soon follow.  We don't know how much you currently weigh, but you go to the doctor in a week and we're looking forward to getting your "stats".  You have been breastfed your whole life so far and Mommy is very proud that her milk is helping you to grow so well!

You are still a phenomenal sleeper, and did a lot of sleeping in your carseat this month... we were very grateful that you were happy sleeping in the car - it made the long rides much easier.  You sleep about 10 hours each night, but you have slept as long as 12 hours one night at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  We still swaddle you to sleep, but we let one of your arms go free a few weeks ago, which seems to be working nicely.  When we got back from our big trip, we decided you were too big for your bassinet, so we moved you into your crib in your room.  Mommy had a terrible night's sleep the first night you were in there, but you did great!  Thanks, buddy!

Nakey!

You've been great at playing on your mats, and lately we've been giving you naked time on your playmat.  You love your nakey time!  You also love to pee on anything in your way during nakey time... your poor octopus on your mat has gotten hit a few times!  Oops!  You also seem to like your bumbo more and more, which is fun.  Mommy likes to see you sitting up and playing in it.

You met some special family members this month.  Your Great-Great Aunt Emma (Grandpa's Aunt), and your Great Grandma (Grams' Mom).  They both looooooooved you!

You love to grab things these days.  Toys are fun, but sometimes you like to grab for Mommy and Daddy's hands or even our faces!  You're even helping out when you get a bottle by trying to hold it!

Other random tidbits:

~ You lost a lot of your hair on top and new hair has been growing in... it is VERY blonde... so you kind of look a little bald from a distance and in most pictures

~ You've been chewing on your hands non-stop and drooling so we thought teeth would appear any minute, but none so far.

~ You've added a pretty consistent morning nap into the mix lately.  Mommy and Daddy thank you!
