Today marks three months since you came into this world! Thirteen weeks ago you changed Mommy and Daddy's lives forever in the most wonderful way we could have imagined. So many people told us that everything would change once you were born, but we've found that our day to day lives have remained largely the same. You "fit" our family very well. We still go to the same restaurants that we've always gone to, we still run errands the way we always have, and we still, for the most part, sleep like we always have! What has changed, my son, is our hearts. Never in a million years could I have imagined what it would be like to hold you in my arms and feel like my heart is going to explode from all the love I feel, nor could I have foreseen how my heart would burst with pride as I watch you hit your milestones! You've changed me buddy, in all the best ways possible.

Let's see, at your 2 month check-up, you weighed in at 11 pounds, 2.5 ounces. We're pretty confident by now that you are up past 12 pounds as most of your 0-3 month clothing is getting a bit tight! You were 23 inches long at that appointment too. You had some shots, but took them like a champ. You mostly just slept them off and then you were your normal, sweet self the next day. In fact, you fell asleep right after you got your shots and so Mommy just held you in her arms and walked you home from the pediatrician (good thing her office is only a half a block away from our house!)

You are a champion sleeper! I don't know how we got so lucky, but you sure like your sleep and we are happy to let you enjoy it!! Every night, I feed you, we change you and swaddle you, turn your music and nightlight on, and put you down in your bassinet. We'll usually put your binky in, but you spit it out after two or three sucks. This all happens between 9 and 10 pm and you have been sleeping until about 6 or 7 am! Thanks buddy!

Last Saturday, at 11 weeks, 6 days old, you rolled for the first time from belly to back. Mommy and Daddy had just given you a bath and Daddy put you on your tummy in your crib so that he could put some lotion on your back and you decided to roll over! Mommy was hanging your clothes on the other side of the room and missed it, so Daddy put you on your belly again and you rolled again for Mommy! I really appreciate that, buddy! You must have thought that Mommy and Daddy were nuts because we were so excited! You kind of hate tummy time, but we know it's good for you and leads to developmental milestones like this!

| Tummy time makes you stronger for doing things like rolling! |
Over the last two days, you have really proven that you are, in fact, my son and you have started "talking" non-stop. Basically, if you are awake and aren't eating or sucking on your paci, you are babbling to anyone and anything that will listen... Mommy, Daddy, your toys, your hand, or even nothing at all! It's adorable! Mommy and Daddy love to listen to your baby speak and try to engage you in as much conversation as possible.
 |
| Hello! I would like to talk to you! |
You still love your playmats, but have recently grown less fond of your swing. You can sit up in your Bumbo now - a result of your neck and back strength! You are awesome in the car, which is a good thing since we are about to take a major road trip out to Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan. You also love the pool! We took you for the first time this month and you were not freaked out at all. You seem to really like being in the water with Mommy and Daddy.

You've also been shoving your hands in your mouth all the time recently. Or, if Mommy puts her hand near your face, you grab her finger and shove that in your mouth. Mommy is a little worried that this means you will be teething soon... she was early with her teeth, so it wouldn't be a huge surprise. Let's just hope that when that day comes, you aren't in too much pain! Your eyes have started to change color from their beautiful blue/grey to brown. In fact, your left eye is literally half grey and half brown right now - it looks really cool, but is impossible to photograph!

| Can you fit your whole fist in there? |
The third month of your life was jam packed with lots of fun, and I could go on for pages and pages about everything we did, but instead I will just post some pictures.
